Adventures
Joy, awe, challenge, and soul-satisfying shared experiences
Adventures, to me, are one of the great enrichers of life. Alongside financial freedom and meaningful work, they brings joy, awe, perspective, and the kinds of shared experiences that stay with you long after the trip is over.

The value of a “hell yes”
I love the idea of an adventure that makes you feel an immediate “hell yes.” The kind of trip that excites you, motivates you to prepare, and makes the day-to-day feel worthwhile because something soul-satisfying is out there waiting for you.
Why adventure matters
Trips create more than memories. They build friendship, shared stories, confidence, and a sense of possibility. They remind you that life is meant to be lived, not just managed.
Larapinta and the Gravel Muster
One of my biggest recent adventures was doing the double in Central Australia: Run Larapinta in the West MacDonnell Ranges followed a couple of days later by the Gravel Muster in the East MacDonnells. I was the only person that year to do both, and I loved the idea of combining two different kinds of challenge into one unforgettable trip.
The real magic
What stayed with me afterwards wasn’t just the physical challenge. It was the sense of mental space, the freedom from distraction, the long shared meals, and the deeper conversations that happened when everyone had stepped away from ordinary routines. That was the real magic — the kind of adventure that leaves you with new friendships, fresh perspective, and plans for future shared experiences.

Creating shared adventures
I’ve always loved bringing people together for a shared adventure. Over the years I’ve organised trips involving mountain biking, swimrun, trail running, and bikepacking — because some of the best parts of adventure are the anticipation, the camaraderie, and the stories you bring home.
A life made richer
For me, adventure is not separate from a well-lived life — it’s part of what makes life feel vivid, expansive, and deeply worthwhile
